Camp Thangdhar is situated at 8,500 Ft in the Mussorie Hills, 15 Kms from Dhanaulti and 14 Kms from Chamba. Set in the heart of the Indian Himalayas and surrounded by dense Pine, long wooded slopes of Deodar, Pine, Oak and Rhododendron forests, Dhanaulti (Thangdhar) offers tranquility seems to be straight out of some romantic classic. Wild Iris, snow capped peaks and heart filling peace embraces you here. The beautiful and picturesque 180 degree view of the snow clad Garhwal Himalayas will fill you with a romantic charm. So camping in thangdhar is best option for adventure camping.
Itinerary Details
Day 1:
Arrival in the Camp in the morning, have breakfast and get ready to explorer the beauty of dense Pine, long wooded slopes of Deodar, Pine, Oak and Rhododendron forests. Post lunch free to play Ground Sports Activities available at the campsite like Volley Ball, Football, Bad-Minton and Cricket etc. Bonfire in the evening along with bar-be-cue and light music.
Day 2:
Early morning wake up at 6.30AM and learn the Yoga and some muscle stretch games. Come back to camp and after breakfast leave for the Dhanaulti. Situated at an elevation of 2, 286 meters above the sea level, Dhanaulti lies almost midway on Mussourie-Chamba route. After that drive to Sukhanda Devi is about 10 Km from Dhanaulti. One has to trek 2 Km to reach the top of the mountain where the temple is located. This location offers a breathtaking 180 degree view of higher Himalayan peaks. Back to camp have a dinner and overnight at camp in Kanatal near Dhanaulti.
Day 3:
Start your day with hot Tea/Coffee. After that get ready for a short Trek of dense Pine forests and explorer the beauty of nature. Post lunch free to do rest of camping activities on your own. In the evening Depart from the camps towards your destination along with the unforgettable experience of Adventurous Camping.
