This place is around 60 kms from Bangalore near Ramgiri of Ramnagar, one of the ideal destinations for trekking and adventure games both of rock and rope based activities.
This is a rocky destination having 2 mountains joined above with a small passage at the base between them, also its ideal outings. Also this place is famous for its granite rock formations, as it lies in the belt of rock mountain ranges between Ramnagar Kanakpur belt.
Outings carried out at Handi Gundi Betta comprises of activities like the
Rock Climbing : In which free climbing is employed at this place as one of the rope is anchored to mountains on top of peak and other end is tied to the participant with accessories like the defenders used while descending the mountain, Carabineers used as support to tie anchor the rope which withstands the weight up to 1500 kg’s and harness it is a belt worn by the participant to which the rope is interconnected, making the accessories and rope as a support while climbing.
Rappelling Abseiling : Unlike here however it still means a controlled descent down a rock face using a rope. This technique helps you stop wondering how you going to come down after climbing up a high mountain and just with a rope around your waist, desenders and some guts, one can climb down safely. Without complete knowledge of the technique, it may prove dangerous. High Rope Traverse : is a activity wherein a rope attached between two distant points on a height and a harness attached to it and you sitting in the harness is what it means. Since as late as 1920, this technique has been used in evacuation, rescue, and trade across valleys and remote forests.
