Sanctuary area shelters Tigers , Indian gaur, Sambar, Panther, Sloth bear, Barking deer and Giant Indian Squirrel etc. The nests of Giant Indian Squirrel are confined to virgin forest of Rundiv and Shiddheshwari villages.Lark malabar, Kingfisher, Paradise Fly Cather, hornbill, Short Toed Snake Eagle, Brahminy Kite etc. birds are seen in this sanctuary.

Key Features of the Forest

> Part of Sahyadri Tiger Reserve, possibility of sighting Barking deer, Sambar, Indian gaur or Wild boars

> Though mammal sighting is difficult it is a very good forest for birdwatching.

> Being first week of March, this trail has good potential for butterfly activity

Meeting Time and Place :  Details will be provided to the registered participants 10 days prior to the event.

Day 1 : Leave from Pune at 11.0pm

Day 2 : Reach Chandoli by 4 am

• Sleep out in open or in bus, 
• Get up early in the morning, 
• Breakfast after freshn up, Start Jungle Trail
• Have packed lunch in forest 
• Continue Jungle trail
• Exit forest by 6pm and back to Chandoli village, have tea 
• Start return journey by 6.30pm
• Dinner enroute
• Reach Pune by 11pm.
