Destinations Covered : Manali, Hampta Pass, Chandra Tal.
This is one of the amazing treks in the territory of the beautiful state of Himachal Pradesh, which takes the honor of connecting two picturesque valleys of the state, namely, the Lahaul Valley and the Kullu Valley. What makes this trek enticing is the fact the trek gives an opportunity to the trekkers to experience and experiment the varied landscape present and also gets a chance to explore the flora and fauna scattered in the different valleys. The delightful weather, the sudden changes in the atmosphere and the vicinity of the trek makes it one of the enthralling treks of the country. The mesmerizing beauty of this region and the relatively easy to trek factor that is associated with this trek, makes this trek the first choice of both the experienced as well as novice trekkers.
We offer a package of 5 days and 4 nights for our tourists who desire to undertake the Hampta Pass trekking expedition. This trek is a low altitude trek and is quite easy in terms of trekking; thus the participants need not require any time for the purpose of acclimatizing themselves. For the purpose of ensuring a safe as well as worthy trekking expedition, the participants must be physically fit and mentally strong. For those, who wish to undertake a more difficult trekking expedition in the future, the participants can take this trek as a highlighter. The trekking expedition takes the participants through beautiful landscape, lush green meadows and pastures, rejuvenating waterfalls, rivers and glacial valleys.
If you wish to ditch the everyday life stress, nothing can beat the pristine and pious environment one find in the vicinity of this trek. As one undertakes the trek, the majestic snow kissed mountains and the view of the beautiful sloping valleys fills the heart with enthusiasm and gives a definite reason to relax and feel happy. The icing on the cake, comes in the form of an additional opportunity to visit Chandratal Lake, which happens to be a very high altitude lake filled with alpine trees which has a clear blue water. The lake gives the onlookers a peep into the nature's pristine beauty. During the return journey, the participants are also given a jeep ride over the region of Rohtang Pass; this gives a kind of satisfaction to the participants, that they have covered two trekking expeditions in a single go.
A Short Itinerary
Day 1: Drive from Manali (6,000 ft) – Jobra then trek to Chika (1,0100 ft).
Day 2: Chika (10,100 ft) – Balu ka Gera (11,900 ft) (5 hrs)easy ascent.
Day 3: Balu ka Gera (11,900 ft) – Siagoru (12,900 ft) Crossing Hampta Pass (14,100 ft).
Day 4: Siagoru (12,900 ft) – Chatru (11,000 ft) 4 hrs. Drive to Chandra Tal.
Day 5: Drive from Chandra tal/Chatru to Manali via the Rohtang Pass.
Itinerary Detail
Chika Day 01 : Drive from Manali (6000 ft) to Jobra than start trek to Chika (10100 ft).
We will meet at Manali Bus stand and then we will drive from Manali (6000 ft) to Jobra and after briefing session we start our trek to Chika (10100 ft) our today’s camp. Today’s trek is a 2 hour easy ascent from 9700 ft to 10,400 ft through thick forest and crossing small bridge. While trekking we can see the Rani river on one side and a big rocky hill on the other. The trek passes through some of the most spectacular landscape. Overnight camp at Chika.
Balu Ka Ghera Day 02 : Chika (10100 ft) to Balu ka Ghera (11900 ft) .5 hrs easy ascent.
The third day trek is a gradual ascent. While trekking we will be able to see the spectacular Dhauladhar range in the background and Indrasan peak in front. The best part of today’s trek that we have to cross two rivers one at the start just near to Chikka Campsite and other at Jwara Nala. We will have our packed lunch after crossing the Jwara nala.
Siagoru Day 03 : Balu ka Gera (11900 ft) to Siagoru (12900 ft) Crossing Hampta Pass (14100 ft).
This is the most spectacular part of the trek as we cross the Hampta Pass and then descend to our camp site in Siagoru. From Hampta Pass you can see the Indrasan Peak and its gigantic glacier.Today’s trek will take us approximately 8hrs to reach Siagoru. The ascent on this part of the Hampta Pass trek will be moderate.
Chandra Tal Day 04 : Siagoru (12900 ft) to Chatru (11000 ft) 4 hrs. Drive to Chandra Tal.
This day we have an easy descent through the Hampta Valley. The massive mountains of the Pir Panjal and Spiti ranges dominate the entire landscape during the Hampta Pass Trek till the camp site at Chatru. Chatru is a confluence point of paths from Rohtang Pass, Hamta Pass and Lahaul & Spiti. From Chatru if road and weather condition permit we head to the Chandra Tal and camp at suitable place according to the conditions.
Manali Day 05 : Drive from Chandra tal/Chatru to Manali via the Rohtang Pass.
In the morning after breakfast we leave for Manali via the Rohtang Pass. Our wonderful experience of trekking in Himachal ends.
