Fitness seems to be the concept which has caught up on people today in the world, which is plagued with lifestyle related ailments. This is why people today are turning back to sports and other outdoor activities to keep themselves fit and also have some fun, at the same time. If travel and fitness are things which make adrenaline rush through your body, then the Himalayas and the northern part of India have a host of things to offer. Cycling is one means of getting both these thrills during one single experience – the kick of travel and intense physical workout.
Shimla, being rightly called as the queen of the Himalayas, is a spectacular hill station to head to . It is located atop some very picturesque mountains and has some of the best roads to travel to into the hills. It is in fact the starting point for trips to a host of remote towns amongst the hills. Chail and Solan are amongst these and the network of roads between these places is very well laid out, making them a heaven for cycling lovers. What also helps is the terrain and the ascend of the roads, which adds that fun-filled thrill to every turn one takes along the path.
The ride commences from Shimla, and ascends towards the highlands of Kufri. This is a mesmerizing stretch of mountain roads, with lots of streams and waterfalls on the way. This will provide for a very thought provoking trip over the wheels, as you whizz past the beautiful natural features along the way. The ride from Kurfi to Chail is another beautiful route to cycle along, with many local shps and hutments paved along the road. This way you do not have to worry about being strained during the ride, and enjoy it to the fullest.
