Situated at a distance of 70 kms from Bangalore on Bangalore Kanakpur highway is one of the frequently visited rocks climbing spots in Bangalore as this place is completely covered by boulders and rocky hills.
This is most sought destination for rock climbing after Ramnagar, for beginners it is ideal destination as they can indulge themselves in natural rock climbing followed by rappelling at this site.
This place is completely constituted by rocky mountain ranges on side and also there is a private lake towards the boundary end and on the other side of the mountain is covered by forest ranges which spread its area from Bandipur national forest infected by some wild life.
The rock climbing site at this area is of 80 to 100 feet high where free climbing can be adopted with the help of climbing ropes and belay, desender’s carabineer and harness with safety helmets.
Before undertaking the adventure activities we would first divide the trainers according to number of guests and start off with hiking/Trekking to reach the base of boulders to start rock climbing and post completion of this activity we will start off with Rappelling activity by moving towards the flat boulders site and hike up and then start descending down using the ropes desenders carabineer and harness with mittens, this activity is called Rappelling or abseiling.
After the completion of the above activities we move on towards the water sports which indulge you in activities like Raft building, kayaking and Swimming and also natural walk on the lake side.
Also some of the popular places nearby to this spot is Turahalli and Bheemeshwari. Turahalli the destination closer to Bangalore around 40kms located in between Kanakpur-Mysore Road is reserve forest coming under ranges of Kagalipura. This place is called Rock Climbers Hub having many boulders and Rock Formations.
If you planning for Weekend outing and looking forward to enjoy yourself in the riverside then Bheemeshwari is the ideal spot for heading in to as it is 100kms from Bangalore lying in mandya dist of Karnataka. This place has plenty to offer for travelers of all age groups to enjoy alongside the calm nature on the riverside where river Cauvery flows pleasantly.
