Kapil Joshi, the head of the eco-tourism wing says,” The state spring bird festival has been a runaway success in the last three years. With the festival, a destination was promoted each year for tourism, and meaningful deliberations were also held among all the stakeholders-- professionals, consultants, experts, people from local communities, NGOs' and the government employees. However, it was being felt that people from all over the state were not able to participate and benefit when the festival was held at a specific place. So, it was decided to decentralize the event giving representation to maximum regions each year.”
The events will be promoted by the eco-tourism wing of the forest department in seven circles. Among which, the four circles are Garhwal region - Bhagirathi, Shivalik, Pauri and Yamuna. Three in Yamuna region-- North, South and Western circles.
