Bengal Adventure Enthusiast To Pedal Across Himalayan Countries To Promote Child’s Education

With the desire to create awareness for the children’s education, an adventure freak from West Bengal is all set to cycle solo 5,000 Km in the Himalayas across India, Nepal and Bhutan over four months. Through his journey, he will try to create and promote children’s education.

ABOUT THE JOUNERY:

 

Sudipto Pal, a professional mountaineer and cyclist will begin his journey on 15th July from Srinagar as a part of Child Rights and You, CRY’S (NGO) national campaign ‘School the Spark’. His journey will take him to some of the most unreliable and dangerous trails in the Greater Himalayan Arc from Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir to Walong in Arunachal Pradesh. On his journey, along the way he will also attempt to scale the virgin peak. Sudipto will shoot photographs and videos of this journey and transmit them to the public via CRY’s online campaign.

Sudipto, in his late 20’s is the first super randonneur of eastern India. He said, “I am familiar with the areas since I have been there on expeditions. The locals also know me well, so my aim is to connect with them on child education as I move across the villages”

 

“Spread over three phases, the initiative will focus on the challenges faced by children in accessing their basic right to education” said Atindra Nath Das, Regional Director, East, CRY.
