It is a moment of joy as the Indian Army mountaineers successfully scale Mount Everest at 06:07 hrs on 18 May 2016. The group was lead by Lt Col Ranveer Jamwal with a team of six Army Mountaineers - Sub Rinzing Dorje, Hav Hazuri Lal, Hav Shiva Kumar,Nk CB Thapa, NK Dorjay Gyalson and Nk Ankur Rawat. They all managed to successfully summit Mount Everest. And now, the team under Major Nooruddin Ahmed is attempting to summit Mount Lhotse (fourth highest peak in the world). The Army climbers are amongst the initial lot of mountaineers who are attempting after a hiatus of two years. The reason for the gap was that the peak was closed due to a major destruction caused by an earthquake in Nepal last year.

Facing all the difficulties crossing their way, the dedicated team is all set to add one more feather to the cap.

The team is now set to add another feather as five of the members will be participating in the tough and intensive ‘Tenzing Hillary Everest Marathon’ on May 29, which is considered to be one of the toughest trail marathons in the world. We wish them all the best for their attempt.
