3rd June is the day when Karnataka will witness its first two-day kayaking festival! The festival will be held at Kali River at Aveda village in Uttara Kannada district.
Initiated by the department of youth empowerment & sports in association with the state tourism department, Uttara Kannada district administration and General Thimayya National Academy of Adventure (GTNAA), the aim of the festival is to encourage and attract the youths towards adventure sports.
As stated by Minister Pramod Madhwaraj, the festival will be inaugurated by industries minister R V Deshpand, with the presence of tourism minister Priyank Kharge as chief guest.
The festival will have adventure sports games like Kayak slalom, race with obstacles placed in different locations in the river, boater cross, downriver sprint, team relay athletes and 10km team marathon. By now, 47 sportsmen of national and international repute have mejores replicas de relojes already locked their name for the participation of the event.
With the team of technical specialists from Malabar and Meghalaya, the event is organized according to the international standards. The organizers of the festival have also collaborated with known adventure sports bodies like the Indian Mountaineering Foundation and International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation of France. Promod proudly said, "After Kerala and Meghalaya, Karnataka is the only state which is organizing this sport and all of us should feel proud about it."
