Kathmandu, Nepal: The Sprint Climbing season had begun in March and will continue until the end of May. However, it is tragic to know that there already have been six deaths. On Monday last, an Indian climber’s body was spotted by the Sherpa rescuers. Although spotted, yet the chances of retrieving the body look impossible owing to the bad weather condition and the height of which he is assumed to have fallen from. Ravi Kumar had encountered with the accident at approximately 650 meters below the route.

Other people who had lost their lives in the expedition are from the United States, Australia, and Slovakia. It has been learned that owing to extremely bad weather, the climb in the initial phase had been slow and troublesome, and therefore to make it to the top in the later phase, the climbers had to rush. That might have been the cause of the deaths.

Kumar was 22 and his was a different scenario. He had fallen sick and couldn’t reach the summit which was scheduled on Saturday while others with him could make it. His guide was not too active too. He somehow managed to make it to the nearest camp which is at 8000 meters. Kumar was late but with his guide, he reached the height of 8850 meters which is approximately 29035 feet high in the afternoon at 1:30 pm.

Like Ravi Kumar, an American climber Roland Yearwood who was 50 breathed his last on Sunday. His body too looks difficult to be rescued. Vladimir Strba who was 50 too died on Sunday. He was from Slovakia origin. There is another report on the death of an Australian climber who was 54. Francesco Enrico Marchetti died in the Chinese region. This season, with the increase in the number of climbers to 371, six deaths have been claimed. The previous years, 2014 and 2015 didn’t have climbers due to a deadly avalanche in the Everest. The enthusiasts of 2014 had the liberty of climbing until 2019 as a replacement for the year while the climbers of 2015 had the permit till 2017. The cost of each permit is $11,000.
