Bhubaneswar: Recently, Sri Nrusingh Sahoo (30 yrs) and Sri Chinmoy Moharana (21 yrs), these two young men of Orissa achieved to reach the Mt. Stok Kangri at Leh. They successfully submitted Mt. Stok Kangri 24th Sept-2016 at 7.30 AM. To reach the peak, the time the efforts took was more than 8 hours as they had to cover 6150 meters from the Base Camp. Everester Sri. Ganesh Jena encouraged them along with Nitu Bisoi, Smita Rani Behera, and Sasmita Pradhan. Adventure Club AASA (Association of Adventure and Social Activities) sponsored them for basic Mountaineering Course (Girls) and Advance Course (Boys) at Sonamarg, Srinagar and Leh, Ladakh.
The participants are required to summit a 6000 meters Mountain Peak as a rule for the completion of the advance course. And accordingly, these boys have been successful in submitting the Mt. Stok Kangri which is a rare achievement for Odiya mountaineers. Heartily congratulation wishes have been given to Sri. Sahu and Sri. Moharana for their achievements by the Secy. of AASA, Capt. N.C.Sharma, President, Sri. Ashok Mohanty, Advisor and Sri. Sarojn Muduli Vice President.
