There are several of safaris dedicated for tiger conservation in India. Many of us have even seen Tigers in their open natural habitat. But for the very first time a Tiger safari dedicated to white tigers has been developed in Madhya Pradesh.
You might have heard about White Tigers, but now, soon you will be able to see these beautiful beasts. On Sunday, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan inaugurated the world's first 'White Tiger Safari' at Mukundpur in Satna district.

The project costed Rs. 50 crore and is spread over an area of 25 hectares.
Currently the safari has 3 white tigers, including one male named Raghu and two females, Vindhya and Radha. The safari will house nine white tigers in the coming months for which talks are being held.
One of the white tigers and two bears were brought from Bhopal. Later, two more white tigers were shifted from Maitri Bagh Zoo at Bhilai in Chhattisgarh. Two Bengal tigers were also brought here at the safari from the Aurangabad zoo in Maharashtra this year.
The 'White Tiger Safari' is situated adjacent to the sprawling Mukundpur Zoo, which is spread over 75 hectares.
The State government's next plan is to develop white tiger breeding facility in Govindgarh. However, wildlife communities warn that these animals have a genetic flaw and are prone to dying young.
In 1951, Rewa princely state's ruler Maharaja Martand Singh captured a white tiger cub. The tiger was domesticated by the Maharaja and named as 'Mohan'. It later became the progenitor of all known white tigers in the world after the arrangement of its breeding.
