Maximum Altitude : 3900 m
DAY 01) : Delhi- Chandigarh – Manali – ‘dA Base’ (12 – 14 hrs.)
The guests will arrive in Manali in the morning. A representative of Mountaineerz will receive them at Patlikuhl bus stand (16.5 kms. short of Manali) and assist them to check in at dA Base – Mountaineerz. Unwind after the long drive. The guests will have a chance to meet fellow trekkers and the Mountaineerz team. Guests are encouraged to explore the beautiful ‘somvan’ by the river Beas, Naggar Castle, Roerich art Gallery etc. Please ensure that you are geared up for the trek and any last minute shopping can be done from Manali. Back in time for relaxed evening over bonfire and early dinner to get up early in the morning.
DAY 02 : Manali - Lama Dugh (3017m) 5 hrs
The trek begins from Hadimba temple and the climb is through thick forests but there is no water point after departing from Manali. As one gains height in this steep climb, the distinct views of different faces of Indrasan, Deo Tibba and peaks of Bara Shigri glacier open up. In the last lag, the path turns to the right and one
traverses the ridge horizontally and enters the campsite on an alpine plateau studded with thick growth of alpine flowers.
DAY 03 : Lama Dugh - Rani Sui (3900m) 7 to 8 hrs
The height gain on this day is approximately 1 km. The trek is a bit steep at the ridge below Khanpari Tibba (4000m). From this point, one can have a magnificent glimpse of Manali, situated on the left bank of River Beas and the whole upper Kullu valley, which appears swathed in the different colors of the season. The lake
at Rani Sui is a small mountain tarn with 360 degree views of the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar ranges.
DAY 04 : Ranisui to Kalathanali. 4 to 5 hours - Himalayan Jungle Retreat
It's a steady descent today through high altitude meadows and pine, maple, horse chestnut, walnut forests. Continuous descent through dense pine forests will take you to the village of Parsha and then further down to national highway at Kalath. The trek ends here. A vehicle will pick up from there and bring you to da Base.
(Participants, who’ve joined us just for the trek, can catch their bus from the Patlikuhl bus stand.) Celebratory dinner with bonfire and bbq and some light music at ‘The Himalayan Jungle Retreat’.
DAY 05 : Himalayan Jungle Retreat - Chandigarh/Delhi.
Spend the day at leisure in the exotic surroundings or go angling (some nice spots near our base). For those interested, paragliding, rafting can be organized before you depart in the evening.

Advisory about activity:
- In case you are joining just for the trek, you should be at the Ram Bag Chowk, the Mall, Manali, by 9 am
- Trekking programs in the Himalaya not necessarily would always run exactly as scheduled. Allow for
- unplanned long days or early camps due to weather disruptions or similar causes.
- All participants are recommended to have a travel insurance that covers trekking and wilderness
- travel.
- Wear shoes and clothes you are comfortable in and do not forget waterproof jackets and warm
- clothing.
- Soak up the atmosphere – close your eyes and take in the sights and sounds as you explore and
- observe.
- Do not litter the environment. Polythene and plastics are non-biodegradable and unhealthy for the
- environment and must not be littered or burned and should be carried back.

- Any expenses that arise due to change in itinerary and increase in no. of days because of natural forces
- like landslides, weather, roadblocks, flight cancellations, sickness etc.
- Cost of any optional activity we offer, like paragliding, angling, rafting etc.
- Porterage @INR. 350 per day per 8 kg bag
- Applicable govt. service tax.
Things to Get
Backpack :
Backpack 40 - 50 Lt. With rain cover. Day Pack 15 - 20 Lt. - To carry your personal gear, camera, water bottle, trail clothing, packed food etc. (you will need this, when you offload your larger pack onto a horse/porter)
Footwear :
Trekking Shoes : Please do not wear sports shoes as on most treks as we go higher it gets harder to use the sports shoes. We recommend shoes with a good hard sole and also ankle support preferable water proof. While we do not subscribe to any particular brand you can try the Quechua forclaz 600 or like.
Socks :
- 2-3 pairs of cotton socks
- 1-2 pair of woolen socks (best to use when in camp. Not recommended while trekking).
Clothing :
- Pants: 2-3 pairs - Ideal are the quick dry light weight synthetic pants. Alternatively track pants are also
comfortable to trek in. Avoid jeans/denims.
- T-shirts 2-3 pairs – Preferably full sleeves.
- Synthetic Fleece Jacket - 1 pair.
- Wind proof/ Water proof Jacket - 1 pair.
- Down filled / Hollow fiber fill insulated Jacket - 1 -pair (optional - get this if you want to stay extra warm at
camps.)
- Thermal liners - 1 pair upper and lower (optional)
Accessories :
- Raincoat/ Poncho - make sure it is something that will cover your daypack and camera too.
- Warm Beanie - make sure it is something that covers your ears. You can also use buffs, scarfs etc in addition
to your beanie.
- Gloves - Lightweight synthetic gloves made of Fleece or you can also use woolen gloves.
-Sun Cap- 1 no
-Sun Glasses with good UV protection.
Other necessary things that we recommend you get :
- Toiletries - Sunscreen SPF 40+, Moisturizer, Lip balm, Soap, Toilet paper.
- Repair Kit (needle and thread).
- Headlamp/ Torch.
- Camera.
- Water Bottle- Ideally keep two bottle 1 liter each.
- Trekking Pole - Optional.
- Plastic Packing covers. (Please pack all your gear in waterproof plastic bags so that your clothes etc do not
get wet while on horses or porters. Also carry extra plastic bags in case you need to pack wet clothes.)
