Shivpuri Beach Camp in Rishikesh is one of the best options on the Ganges for Rafting and Camping. Rishikesh is the rafting capital of India. The Ganges river has the grades that are adventurous.
Camping in Dhanaulti and Kanatal (Near Mussoorie) is the most popular family and corporate weekend getaway from Delhi and NCR. Kanatal is situated at 8,400 ft. near Mussoorie at the distance of 310 Kms/8 hrs from Delhi/NCR, tucked away in the midst of deep forests of oaks. Set in the heart of the Indian Himalayas and surrounded by dense Pine, long wooded slopes of Deodar, Pine, Oak and Rhododendron forests. Camp Carnival at Kanatal is situated at 8,500ft high in the Hills, 15 Kms from Dhanaulti and 14 Kms from Chamba. The camp offers tranquility seems to be straight out of some romantic classic. The beautiful and picturesque 180 degree view of the snow clad Himalayas will fill you with a romantic charm. Surkhanda Devi Temple, 7 Kms
It is 7kms far from our base camps by road. If you are really looking for a good trek, you can add a good trekking experience of Surkanda Devi Temple instead of going by road. It is a Hindu temple situated close to the small resort hamlet of Dhanaulti in Tehri District. It is at an altitude of about 10,000 ft, 2000 ft above Dhanaulti, which itself it at quite a height above sea level. It is surrounded by dense forests and affords a scenic view of the surrounding region including the Himalayas.
Tehri Dam, 28 Kms
Tehri Dam is the primary dam of the Tehri Development Project, a major hydroelectric project centered near Tehri Town in the state of Uttarakhand in India. Located on the Bhagirathi River, the principal tributary of the sacred River Ganges, the Tehri Dam has a height of 855 feet (261 m), making it the 5th tallest dam in the world.
Dhanaulti Eco-park, 10 Kms
A very good destination for eco-tourists to enjoy Eco park consisting of herbal garden, treks, Himalayan view, animals and bird watching inside deodar forest, Heavy snow fall occurs during winter.
Mussoorie, 42 Kms
This hill station, situated in the foothills of the Himalaya ranges, is also known as the Queen of the Hills. Commanding snow ranges to the north-east and glittering views of the Doon Valley and Shivalik ranges in the south, the town was once said to present a fairyland atmosphere to tourists. The highest point is Lal Tibba with a height of over 7000ft.
Itinerary Details
DAY01
Delhi to Rishikesh (Camp)
Early morning drive straight from Delhi airport/station to Haridwar/Rishikesh by A/C Transport. On arrival have lunch and relax and then move on to reach Camp in Rishikesh. Introduction with instructors and also the briefing on the program is the order of the evening. Evening at leisure. Enjoy bonfire. Dinner and overnight at camp.
DAY02
Camp - Rafting camp
Early morning breakfast and leave for Shivpuri/Marine Drive which is famous for rafting to reach by 10.30 am. On arrival your date with the river starts in camp on 28 kms stretch of the river and after does and do not negotiate Grade III rapids like Three blind mice, Roller coaster and Golf course along with Grade II like Cross fire, Return to sender, tea off, club house, initiation and double trouble along with a score of smaller body surfing rapids for fun to end your day on the river. Come back to beach camp for lunch and relax. In the afternoon play the beach games and Evening at leisure. Enjoy bonfire. Dinner and overnight at camp.
DAY03
Camp –Day Hike
Early morning wake up at 6.30AM and learn the Yoga with the yoga Instructor. Come back to camp, after breakfast go for the Rock climbing and rappelling. Come back to camp and after breakfast leave for the full day hike with the help of treasure hunt, Rock climbing, Valley Crossing and rappelling. Enjoy Rafting trip again. During the trek you can see the panoramic view Garhwal Himalayas. Back to the camp. Enjoy Bonfire at the camp. Overnight at camp.
DAY04
Camp - Dhanaulti
Early morning wake up at 6.30AM and learn the Yoga and some muscle stretch games. Come back to camp and after breakfast leave for the Dhanaulti drive. Situated at an elevation of 2, 286 meters above the sea level, Dhanaulti lies almost midway on Mussourie-Chamba route. After that drive to Sukhanda Devi is about 10 Km from Dhanaulti. One has to trek 2 Km to reach the top of the mountain where the temple is located. This location offers a breathtaking 180 degree view of higher Himalayan peaks. Back to camp have a dinner and overnight at camp in Kanatal near Dhanaulti.
DAY05
Camp – Tehri Dam
Early morning wake up at 6.30AM and go for the small stretch/walk. Come back to camp In the Morning visit the Tehri dam (largest Dam in Asia or go for a hike to nearby mountains. Spend the evening relaxing and chilling out with a grand view of beautiful sunset. Overnight at camp.
DAY06
Dhanaulti – Delhi
Morning after breakfast, Sight Seeing in Mussoorie, drive to Delhi (250 kms / approx 7 hours) and proceed straight to Delhi airport or Train station
