Island of Netrani and Murudeshwar Beach-
Petite Island Netrani is situated 10 kms across the exotic Karnataka Coast from Murudeshwara in the majestic Arabian Sea. Vastly occupied by tweeting pigeons and meek goats, this island is replete with beautiful corals, parrot fish, butterfly fish, eels, trigger fish. It also proffers an excellent scuba diving venue. Between December and January diving can best be experienced.
From Goa and Mumbai Netrani can easily be reachable. But there is a small hitch. Since the island close to Netrani is utilized by Indian Navy so it is always better and safe to acquire earlier permission so as to visit the island more satisfactory.
Best time to visit- December to January.

Netrani (also known as Pigeon Island) is a tiny island of India located in the Arabian Sea. It is off the coast of Karnataka situated approximately 10 nautical miles (19 km) from the temple town of Murudeshwara.

1) Air: Nearest Airport is at Mangalore (154 km) & Goa (206km)
2) Road : 500 km from Bangalore on the Hassan - Mangalore - Udupi - Kundapur route. 470 km from Bangalore on the Shimoga - Kollur route. From Kollur - 60 kms.
3) Rail : The Konkan Railways Train plying on the Mangalore - Goa - Mumbai route makes a spot at Murudeshwar and other express trains too.
