River Barapole in Coorg, Dakshina Kannada, specially the upper river, provides excellent rafting opportunities. Situated in the Western Ghats edging along the Deccan Plateau, the grades range between 2 and 4.There are approximately 4 to 5 rapids in the regular upper section & about 6 to 7 rapids in the lower section, these rapids depending on water levels are between grade 2 to 3 or 4. The best season to raft is in the monsoon and post-monsoon months of June to September.

Barapole is the river to Raft, considered to be the deadliest in Coorg due to its turbulent flow and the ambience that surrounds it.

Coorg has rustic touch to itself and one can totally feel rejuvenated in the mist woods and the lush green forests. You can now get away from the mundane and routine life and creates something exciting like white water rafting.

2) By Road- Coorg is well connected with the cities like Mysore (118 km), Bangalore (255 km) and Mangalore (139 km) so how to reach Coorg is not a difficult task. You can hire taxis as well as state buses to reach the hill station from these cities.
3) By Rail- Coorg does not possess a railway network but the stations closest to this hill station are Mysore, Mangalore and Hassan.
