One of popular national parks in south India and most sought tourism place for wildlife safaris, wildlife exploration and tiger trails, Bandipur forest safari is one of its kind. Located in chamarajanagar district of Karnataka shares border with Madumalai national park with Tamil Nadu and Wayanad with Kerala. After Sundarbans highest number of Tigers is found in this belt of Bandipur-Nagarhole belt and also area’s covering Madumalai and Wayanad of neighbouring states. This dense forest is home to many specials, in most common when you enter this region you can easily cite herds of deer’s and wild boar’s and elephants.
Surrounding the hills is the deep dense forest of Bandipur one can always sight the herds of elephants near the temple, trekking further on the temple side and entering the forest reserve we spot some wildlife and view the small fort constructed by Tippu to store his weapons during Anglo-Mysore war. Fort was constructed by the stone masonries carried by elephants in olden days can only be viewed on a clear sunny day.
This place is pretty much accessible to all as it lies in between highway connecting Ooty and Bangalore. This forms the entry to the Nilgiris forests of the ootacamund / Ooty. This is around 200 kms from Bangalore and around 90 kms from the Mysore the city of world famous Mysore Palace.
