Jim Corbett national park is one of the largest national parks in India and is named after the famous hunter JimCorbett who shot a number of man-eating leopards and tigers in Kumaon Himalaya region during his early days and later he turned into a conservationist. The area of about 520 sq km shelters more than 50 species of mammals, 27 reptiles, 488 plants and 580 birds including some popular entries like Tigers, Leopards, Elephants, Himalayan bears, Otters, Fishing cats, Leopard cats, Yellow throated martens, Crested serpent eagles, Collared falconets, Pallas’s fish eagle, Blossom headed parakeets, Tawny fish owls, Red jungle fowls, Gharials, Marsh crocodiles and King cobras.
The geological formations have carved Corbett national park into a photographers dreamland ! From beautiful forest canopies to milky white river beds, from starry nights to chilling winds, Corbett offers a perfect composition to observe, enjoy and photograph the biodiversity in its natural habitat. These Terai forests and its wildlife has their own uniqueness quotient and makes sure every traveller exploring this territory gets some mesmerizing take home.
ITINERARY
Day 00 :
Meet at Delhi. Board train from Delhi to Ramnagar, overnight train journey.
Day 01 :
Reach Ramnagar early morning by 5.30 am. After freshen up, get prepared for the first safari as our first safari starts right there while we get transferred from Ramnagar to Dhikala Rest house in open gypsy. Its all wilderness out there and you can spot anything at any point while in forest. Till we reach the rest house nestled right inside the Corbet tiger reserve forest, we must have sighted at least a couple of birds and mammals, if not a tiger! Breakfast during this transit safari will be some dry snacks / packed food.
Rest at checkin Area and check in around 12 noon. Freshen up and have hot yummy lunch served for you. Post lunch we will have an introduction session where one gets to know their fellow participant. Post lunch we will leave for our most awaited jungle safari. Explore the enchanting forest of Corbett National Park…India’s first and undoubtedly the most beautiful forest area. It is a land of Trumpets and Roars and will surely not disappoint you. Post-safari we will have dinner and rest for the day.
Day 02 :
Early morning after having hot tea we will leave for next Jungle safari, where we will be tracking Tigers based on alarm calls and pugmarks. Also we will be doing birding and spotting of other mammals in the forest like elephants, yellow throated martins, leopards, jackals, hog deers etc. Post lunch leave for next jungle safari to once again enjoy the scenic forest of Corbett, this time may be at a new terrain of Grassland or Paar. After safari we will have a discussion session wherein we will be discussing about our experience in the forest and some general and interesting facts about Tigers and other mammals. Post dinner rest at resort.
Day 03 :
Get ready for our next jungle safari and ride your gyspy with luck. Post safari back to resort for breakfast. Freshen up and check out rooms. Post check out meet up for lunch and post lunch start with our last safari. This will be again transit safari between Dhikala to Ramnagar and will make it extremely hard to say goodbye to the beautiful forest of Corbett located at foothills of Himalayas. Let us assure you that your Corbett experience and memories will be the the ones to cherish forever, so soak in as much as possible from this magical forest. As we reach Ramnagar, we can taste some yummy street food in town before we are transferred to a resort for dinner. Post dinner set out to Ramnagar station and take the over night train to Delhi.
Note **
1. Tiger sighting is matter of luck, so enjoy the forest with other mammals and birds.
2. Costing might increase at last minute if there is any changes made in Fee structure by Forest department.
