By trekking the Everest, the participants gain a definite chance to reach an elevation as high as 17,590 feet. This trail is surrounded by some of the majestic Himalayan peaks and allows the trekkers to pass through forests, waterfalls, valleys and rivers which not only look beautiful but overpower the senses of the trekkers. The trek has a moderate level of difficulty, so only those who possess some prior experience of trekking should indulge in trekking on this route. Itinerary in Details

 

Day1- Arrival in Kathmandu Transfer to Hotel

 

The guests will be received by our staff from the airport and will be taken to the hotel. In the hotel itself, a short introduction and briefing session with regard to guidance and features of the trek will be conducted. The equipments and gears brought by the guests will be checked on Day1 only and in case the equipments seems to be unfit, the guide will recommend the guests to either purchase or rent a gear for their trekking expedition.

 

Day2- Fly to Lukla – trek to Phakding (2650m) –around 3 hours walking .Lunch @ Phakding

 

We will take a morning flight to Lukla via twin otter. While flying through the aircraft one can view the panoramic sights. This flight is of just 30 minutes, after which we will land at Lukla to meet the Sherpa staff and yaks to carry the baggages. After the participants take their breakfast, the gears and other equipments will be prepared by our staff followed by the start of the trekking journey towards Phakding. Today is a short and easy trekking day. The participants are required to take a gentle walk starting from the northern end of Lukla and go down the steepness to run above the small village named Chaurikharka, where a school founded by the noted climber Sir Edmund Hillary is also present. After a span of 45 minutes, you will cross Lukla and reach the Cheplung village, from where one can view the Dudhkoshi river. The trail descends down slightly and then participants need to cross the suspension bridge in order to view Kusumkangru (6367m). After this short climb, the trekking trail will enter the mani walls which are carved with the mantras, praying flags and wheels as followed in the Tibetian tradition. Following this trail, you will enter Phakding village.

 

Day3- Phakding to Namche (3440m) – Around 5-6 hours walking. Lunch @ Monjo

 

Day 3 will bring a long walk for the participants. The participants will continue to walk alongside the banks of the renowned Dudhkoshi River. While walking, they will pass through lodges and local bhattis. The trail will require the trekkers to climb to reach Toktok village and continue to climb the steep terrain till the time they get to see the splendid views of Thamserkue Peak. After walking for 1.5 hours from Phakding, the guests will find themselves in a small village named Benker, which comprises of a number of lodges for the trekkers. On continuing to walk towards the Benker village one can gain an opportunity to admire the beautiful forest filled with fir and rhododendron trees. There is a steep trail that connects Chumoa to Monjo. Monjo is another nice village located here that also consists of a number of small houses and lodges. You can view gompa, local schools and vegetable fields from here. Lunch at Monjo will be followed by continuing walking towards the destination for today i.e. Namche. You can also see the checkpoint for the famous Sagarmatha National Park just above the lunch place i.e. Monjo. Our guides will make the necessary arrangements for your entry into the National park. The trail descends to reach Jorsalle, just after crossing the suspension bridge. Upon reaching Jorsalle, you need to re-cross the Dudhkoshi river and follow the river's bank for your destination. Namche is nearly two hours from the suspension bridge present on the Dudhkoshi river. Walking at this point will turn into a difficult task. You will find yourself walking at zigzag ascent crossing the pine forest. We advise the participants not to rush while walking up, as with each step you take, you are gaining a new altitude; so there are high chances of getting affected with altitude sickness. Hence, go slow and drink loads of water while walking up.

 

Day4 - Namche - acclimatization - Hike up to Khumjung valley (3970m). Lunch @ Khumjung

 

This is the acclimatization day for the participants in Namche. This is needed in order to trek safely at high altitude without avoiding AMS when moving up the trail. We will make the participants hike towards Khumjung which has a number of green roof local houses which are quite captivating. During this trail, we will move through Namche museum, where one can take a close and deep look at the culture and religions followed here and some of the intriguing facts about the climbers and mountaineers belonging to this region. The highest altitude airport, Cross Syanboche airport is also present here. If you move a little further from here, you can take the pleasure of the scenic view of Mt. Amadablam amongst others. A few meters ahead, the participants will reach the Everest View Hotel from where the breathtaking view of the great Mt. Everest and Lothse can be easily seen. You have to slightly descend down to reach the Khumjug valley in order to visit Sir Edmund Hillary's school. A hospital is also present in Khumjung. You are required to walk down to reach Namche.

 

Day5- Namche– Tengboche (3840m) – around 4-5 hours walking. Lunch@PhunkiThenga

 

After the breakfast, the trekking will start towards the North. The trail runs straight amidst the sloppy hills covered with trees of Jenifer and pine. You will reach Sansa within an hour after crossing mani walls and chortens. The trail from Sansa moves down and merges in the pine forest. You need to cross the smoky tea houses and descend further. You can also see a thumbnail view of Amadablam as you move down. After crossing the suspension bridge you will reach Phunki Tenga where the participants are required to recharge their energy for the next stoppage at Tengboche.

 

Post lunch, the participants will be required to move the uphill. You will then climb up to move inside the rhodendron forest and continue playing hide and seek with the different peaks and mountain ranges. The participants are advised to drink tons of water while trekking the trail. You will then see, a big mountain towering in front of you. That's the Mt. Everest and Mt. Lohtse having an altitude of 8848m and 8501m respectively. Apart from these, you can also take a view of the Amadablam (6812m), Kwangde (6187m), Nuptse (7879m), Thamserku, Twachee (6542m) and Kangtega. All you need to do is to enjoy the sites, capture these moments in your cameras and relax under the sun. In the evening, we will get the trekkers to the Tengbohe Monastry for prayers.

 

Day 6- Trek to Dingboche. Around 4 hrs walking.Lunch @ Somare  

 

The participants need to wake up in the early hours, if they wish to get the splendid view of the natural beauty of the mountains. After breakfast, the journey towards Dingboche will begin. The trail towards Dingboche descends down through the forests covered with rhododendron, conifers and birches. The path present inside the forest will take us to Imjakhola. After crossing the steel bridge and continuing to walk up the hill, we will reach Pangboche after crossing the various Stupas present alongside the trail. It takes 1.5 hours from Tengboche to reach Pangboche that has a good number of lodges for trekkers. In the upper reaches is present Khumbu, te oldest monastery founded in the 17th century by Lama SangeDorge. Following this path, the trail turns steep to reach Somare, where the arrangements for lunch are done. Continuing on this path, we will reach a small bridge present over Khumbukhola which we need to cross and after an hour of climbing, we will reach Dingboche, which also possesses a number of beautiful lodges to accommodate trekkers. You can take a number of scenic views, including Makalu and Island peak from this location.

 

Day 7- Acclimatization- Hike to Nagakarsang (5090m)

 

Similarly to Namche, acclimatization is mandatory for the trekkers once they reach Dinghboche. After breakfast, we will start the trekking to reach Nagakarsang Hill. The view from this hill are indeed magnificent. Some of the best views from this hill include the view of the glacial lake. One can also look at Makalu which is the 5th highest mountain of the world. After a hiking session of 3 hours, we will come back to Dingboche. In the evening, the participants can explore Dengboche village.

 

Day 8- Trek to Lobuche. Lunch @ Dukla- Around 5 hours walking

 

The journey from Dingboche to Luboche will be continued crossing a region covered with alpines. This trail will go just above the Pheriche region. Within 2 hours, the participants will reach Dhukla after crossing a glacial stream. Then, a short time for rest is given after the participants are done with lunch. The view of the peaks of Lobuche, Nuptse, Pumori and Cholatse can be seen from here. On continuing walking towards the destination, Lobuche, one can take the full view of the Pumori peak. The breeze is cooler as you reach Lobuche. Drink hot soup, hot water and noodles in order to keep away the symptoms of high altitude away.

 

Day 9- Trek to Lobuche to Everest Base Camp and back to Gorakshpe. Around 6 hours

 

The trekking towards Gorakshep will take place once the breakfast is done. The gap between mountain wall and glacial moraine is quite narrow that forms the first section of this trail. After a little rounding, the view of Kala Pathar (5545m) can be seen. This dark mound will provide some of the magnificent views of the Mt. Everest. On the way to Gorakshep, one can take the views of the fantastic looking Khumbu. After lunch and a short break at Khumbu, we will head towards the Everest base camp. It will take almost 2 hours to reach there. The trekkers can spend few hours at the base camp and take pictures of the different mountain ranges and khumbu glacier and then return to Gorakshep. A lot of tents are present in the Everest base camp during the spring month. The goal for the next day is to reach the top of Kalapathar. During the night, our experts will have a word with the participants and give them the necessary guidance about the gears and the planning for the next day. We will stay in Kalapathar before the sun rises.

 

Day 10- Early in the morning climb Kalapathar (5545m) and back down to Pheriche. Lunch @ Lobuch or Dukla.Around 6 hrs walking

 

We will proceed towards Kalapathar in the early hours of Day 10. The trail present above Gorakshep is straight and has a grassy ridge. You will require a torch light to move closer towards the summit. As you will escalate up, you will feel cooler. The views are extremely marvelous when taken from the top. Within a span of 2 hours you will reach the top. After you spend a few minutes there at the top, the chilling waves of wind will compel you to go down to Gorakshep. After breakfast, you will come down to Pheriche which is present beneath the Nagakarsang hill situated at the backside of Dingboche.

 

Day11 – Trek back to Namche 

 

Day12- Trek to Lukla

 

This is the last day of this trekking trip. The guests will reach back to Lukla and can enjoy a lovely evening with the crew members.

 

Day13- Fly back to Kathmandu.

 

Day14- Rest / Shopping Day.

 

Day 15- Final Departure to your country.

 

Our staff members will be at hotel for the purpose of helping the guests to reach the airport.
