The Kumara Parvatha or KP as it is more commonly known as, is surely one of the most popular and the finest treks in the Western Ghats. For trek lovers this trail offers king size view of the Western Ghats and an opportunity to be transported into the heart of the forest in a very short duration.
Kumara Parvatha, is situated in Pushpagiri wild life sanctuary in the Western Ghats of Karnataka. The peak can be approached via 2 routes, the Somavarpet (Beedahalli) route and Kukke (Girigadde) route. The Somavarpet route is the less strenuous and less scenic amongst the two. The Kukke route though intimidating can be climbed by ‘fit’ first time trekkers.
This trek offers you endless forests filled with cacophony of chirping birds, unrelenting inclines which trick you with false peaks, viewpoints from which you can capture the beautiful sunset and finally a night sky devoid of light pollution for those who enjoy stargazing.
