Day 01: Manali – Solang – Dhundi

Day 02: Dhundhi – Bakerthach

Day 03: Backerthach – Beas Kund – Bakerthach

Day 04: Bakerthach – Manali

Detailed Itinerary

Day 00 : Drive from Manali to Solang, then trekking to Dhundi (1 hrs drive & 5 kms trek, 4-5 hrs)

Early morning, we reach Manali and drive towards Solang valley that is 12 km away. We start our trek from here. As we move up from the valley for around 8 kms, we follow the trail along the river Beas. We cross the stream several times and walk through forests of oak, fir and walnuts. Enroute, we get glimpses of Deo Tibba and Indrasan peaks. We then come to Dhundi, which is a meadow full of wild flowers. There we set up an overnight base.

Day 1 : Day 02: Trek from Dhundi to Bakarthach (4 kms / 4 hrs)

After breakfast, we start a scenic trek of 6 kms through boulders and narrow streams of a dying glacier. We reach our campsite at Bakerthach, that means ‘shepherd’s field’. You can explore in and around the campsite, look at flocks of sheep grazing peacefully. You stay overnight in tents.

Day 2 : Trek to Beas Kund and back to Bakarthach

 
We start early today. After a short climb up the ridge through Bhoj Patr, we will reach Beas Kund. We will see the serene glacial lake of Beas Kund that is the origin of the mighty river Beas. If you leave Beas Kund early, you can climb the nearby peaks of Shitidhar, Ladakhi and Friendship peaks. Later we return to camp at Bakerthach for the night stay.

Day 03 : Trek from Bakarthach to Dhundi – Solang to Burua and Nehru Kund. Jeep pickup to Vashisht hot springs -Manali

After breakfast, we start our descent back to Solang via Dhundi. We can spare a few hours for adventure sports at Solang. For those who are still able to trek, you can continue your trek to Burua and to Nehru Kund, that offers a beautiful sight of the local life. The jeeps will pick us for a visit to Vashisht hot springs. Later we travel to Manali, where you can board buses the same day or stay the night at a hotel.
