The trek to Lahesh Caves proves to be an extremely enthralling and exciting trip as it offers new challenges at every step. Situated at a height of 3475 meters above sea level the caves have become a popular destination for people looking for ample adventure to fill their weekends with great thrill.
The trekking trail commences from McLeodganj which greets the participants with a great view of the beautiful surroundings of Shivalik hills. The short duration trek offers the participants numerous opportunities to enjoy the various treats of nature and feel a sense of soothing calm which helps them to relax. The walk through the mixed forests of deodar, oak and rhododendron leading to the snow line at the Lahesh Caves proves to be an amazing experience.
The entire trip is completed in 3 days and 2 nights, at the end of which the participants feel enriched and rejuvenated. The experience of spending time in and around the natural rock cave shelter of Lahesh is truly unique and unforgettable and makes the participants undertake the trip several times to revive the memories.
Day 01 - Mcleodganj to Triund, 2800 mtrs, 9 kms gradual trek.
The trek offer panoramic views Bhagsu village, Mcleodganj, Dharamsala valley and distant views of Shivalik hills and plains of Kangra valley. The trek is moderate nature. Triund is a large land of green grass and pasture like. One can see the mighty Dhauladhar ranges just above the eyes. This is the base camp and climatization point for trekkers climbing the Inderahara point in the Mt. Dhauladhar.
The day is in leisure to wander about in the Triund vast land. Night at Camp or forest guesthouse.
Day 2 - Early morning walk to Lahesh cave, 5 hrs max. Laheshcave is a 3550m, a natural rock cave shelter. From lahesh cave to Chhatta Parao. This is the bottom of Inderahara pass passing through the soft snow and icy streams.
Night stay in back in Triund .
Day 3 - After breakfast back Mcleodganj .
