The Gokarna Beach Trek is a unique adventure that combines trekking with stunning coastal views. Located in Karnataka, this trek takes you along a series of picturesque beaches and coastal trails. The trek is relatively easy, making it accessible for all levels of trekkers. Along the way, you’ll encounter serene beaches, charming fishing villages, and scenic spots perfect for relaxation and photography. The Gokarna Beach Trek is an ideal choice for those seeking a refreshing coastal adventure amidst natural beauty.
Every day we wake up, start chasing our dreams, feel that this is only life but in reality life has much more to offer. Take a break from daily monotonous schedule and plan an adventures tracking trip with friends to the small town of Gokarna. Not only will you be thrilled with the adventure of tracking but you will also come close to nature and spirituality. What makes it more exciting is the night journey with your group as Gokarna is around 520 kms from Bangalore. It is advisable to have a light meal the night you are travelling.
The name Gokarna comes from the belief that it was at this place that Lord Shove emerged from a cow’s ear. (Mother Earth)
Gokarna has around four main beaches. You can start your tracking from Kudle beach as it is around 1 km from one end to the other. If you have a bat and a ball you can even play cricket on the beach. The dusk at Gokarna beach is a must. The magic of the orange light on the waves presents an awesome picture that you will want to etch in your memory forever.
You can then go to Om beach. The beach is in the shape of “Om”. On the right hand side of the beach is a medium size cliff climbing called Shiva Climb. You will not find his type of spiritual uniqueness in any other beach of the world.
At the Half Moon beach, you will actually feel the thrill of trekking. You will come in contact with a huge rock called the rock of peace and from there you can view the beautiful dolphins on the Arabian coast line. There is another way to reach the Half Moon Meach , via a coastal line with hundreds of coconut and palm trees. This trail will make you feel at peace with nature.
For those who love silence and peace go to Paradise Beach. It is full of palm trees and rocks so you can again start the rock climbing. There are some wild paintings on the rock, which you can click the pictures of with your group as a sweet ever green memory. In the night you can have candle light dinner, and music near the beach.
The best time to go is October to February. Bring a pair of jackets, cargos, shorts so that you can easily climb the mountains. Bring pair of sport shoes and medical kit. Avoid coming in the monsoon as the sand is slippery. So what are you waiting for. Pack your bag and experience a unique combination of spirituality thrill and silence at the Gokarna Beach.
Day 0 : We leave for Gokarna on the Friday night from Bangalore.
Day 1 : Reach early morning at the homestay. Freshen up and have sumptuous local breakfast. Reach Kudle beach which is about 6 km from the Gokarna town and start the trek. Kudle beach trek is around 7km, which is both invigorating and quieting. Prepare to drown yourself in the vastness and warmth that the beach has got to offer. A stroll down the beach with the special one, or a bunch of weirdos who make your life worthwhile, or just you, appreciating some ‘ME’ time. This place will leave no pages unturned. Watch how the Sunset lighten ups the faces beside you, and grace yourself with a memory meant to last forever. Head back to the Homestay to gorge on some delicious supper.
Day 2 : Wake up to some hot and fresh breakfast. Freshen up and do take a second look of the beauty around as you prepare to check out. As you move back to the monotony, you will take an experience worth cherishing until the next time.
