Kemmangundi Trek – A Great Way To Enjoy A Tryst With Unspoiled Nature
Despite being an unknown and undocumented trekking trail for years, Kemmangundi in Chickmaglur in Karnataka, s increasingly becoming a favourite trekking destination for nature lovers and wild life enthusiasts. The picturesque hill town lies in close proximity to the Baba Budan Giri Range and boasts of surreal beauty that is quite similar to the one observed at Western Ghats. What makes Kemmangundi even more popular is its amazingly beautiful and amazingly luxuriant climate that can be enjoyed all year round.
The Kemmangundi trek takes the participants to the top of the single secluded peak Kemmangundi, which is also popular by the name of KR Hills. The peak is named so after Krishna Raja Wodeyar, who used the hill as his summer abode. The 2 days and 1night long trek requires the participants to cover a distance of 20 kms over trekking trail that is considered to be easy difficulty level. Before reaching the peak, the trekkers enjoy the mesmerizing sight of lofty hills, several streams and brooks, vast coffee estates and ornamental gardens and quite a few waterfalls.
The trek proves to be a truly awe-inspiring experience for the participants who feel bewitched by the unique natural beauty of area and its pleasing climate. In fact, many trekkers consider the decision to undertake this trek to be one of the best decisions in their life.
