When referred to hill fort treks many people think of Sahyadri only. But along with western ridge, Maharastra is dotted by lot of forts on the northern Satpuda range. These forts have played an important role of defending enemies from Maharashtra for a long time.
The Satpuda mountain range not only rich in forts but rich in biodiversity too. Among such hotspots we are visiting Melghat region.
During this trip we will be visiting two gigantic forts Gawilgad and Narnala. These forts are situated on the border of Melghat WLS.

Itinerary
Night 1 :
Departure from Pune by AC Volvo
Day 1 :
> Arrival at Amarawati, Breakfast
> Onward journey to Chikhaldara
> Lunch @ Chikhaldara and proceed towards Gawilgad
> Fort site seeing and back to Chikhaldara
> Halt in chikhadara (Hill station)
Day 2 :
> Post breakfat journey to Semadoh,
> Safari through tourist zone of Melghat forest,
> Star Gazing activity from the bridge on Sipna river
> Stay at Semadoh (Experience the night in dark jungle, if you are lucky you might also spot flying squirrel)
Day 3 :
> Early departure towards Dharni
> Breakfast at Dharni and onward journey to Narnala
> Lunch at Narnala and then site seeing
> Departure for Akola
> Departure for Pune from Akola by AC volvo
Day 4 :
Back to Pune at 6am
What to bring
1. Luggage packed in big good trekking sack, all luggage wrapped in plastic bags to avoid getting wet (compulsory)
2. Complete 2 spare set of clothes & socks
3. Water bottle (atleast 1.5 ltr) compulsory
4. Electral/ Glucon-d energizers and personal medication
5. A sweater/warm wear, Cap, goggles
6. Good trekking shoes (Sandles, Chappals, floaters not permitted)
7. Torch with Extra pair of Batteries
8. Camera, Binocular (Optional)
