Satpura National Park located in the Hoshangabad district of Madhya Pradesh was established in 1981. The area of this Tiger Reserve is about 1427 sq.km including core and buffer areas and Bori and Panchmari Wildlife Sanctuary.
Satpura National Park derives its name from the the Satpura mountain range (Satpura means Seven Mountains) that falls in the sanctuary. Satpura boasts one of the most beautiful landscapes in India…full of gorges, ravines and dense forests. The reserve has varied biodiversity and is home to various flora and fauna. The Tigers, Leopards and Sloth bears rule the forest along with other species that include Wild boar, Fox, Procupines, Chinkara, Spotted deer, Sambar deer, Indian giant Squirrel and so on. About 254 species of birds are also found here including a few globally rare ones.

ITINERARY
Day 0 : Leave for Piparia from Mumbai in train. Overnight in train
Day 01 : Reach Piparia in the afternoon and get transferred to Satpura National Park. Travel to Satpura is in private vehicle like Sumo and takes about 2 hours to reach. Reach resort, freshen-up and leave for our first safari. Enjoy Boating on Denwa river to reach the entry gate of the forest, one of the most unique things about Satpura! While on this boat transfer, one may come across beautiful flocks of some splendid birds like Bar headed geese, Indian Skimmers and Darters. During safari, explore the beautiful untouched forest of Satpura in open gypsy, try tracking maximum wildlife & birds.
Post safari take the boat back to return our resort. It’s a mesmerizing experience enjoying that surreal sunset and breeze blowing on Denwa river surface. Refresh yourself with a cup of tea. Get together for discussion about today’s sightings, followed by dinner. Before going to bed one can surely take out time to enjoy beautiful sky and milky way spread in dark sky over Satpura Tiger Reserve. Lights out!
Day 02 : Early morning wake up, get ready for the 2nd jungle safari. Enjoy the forest safari, do extensive birding and try to track some leopard movement. Breakfast at the hotel on return. Post lunch leave for Afternoon safari or Night safari (Decision will be made by expert / leader depending upon the recent sighting reports). Late evening return back to resort. Discussion about today’s sightings around dinner table. Lights off !
Day 03 : Early morning leave for your last safari at Satpura National Park. Try to make the most of it and photograph the amazing landscapes of Satpura. Satpura is a magical forest…who knows you might come back with a memorable sighting of a Tiger or a leopard that was always on your wishlist !!
Return to resort and freshen up. Check out followed by lunch. Post lunch proceed back to Pipariya. Board train back to Mumbai / your respective destination.

1. Tiger / leopard sighting is a matter of luck, so enjoy the forest with other mammals and birds.
2. Costing might increase at last minute if there is any changes made in Fee structure by Forest department.
