And, will take minimum 8 hours 40 minutes, depending on traffic. The drive will reveal some of Uttarakhand’s sacred treasures, like Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag and Devprayag. We’ll spend the night in Joshimath before leaving for Jumma. Joshimath is base for various treks Winter Kuari Pass Trek, Valley of Flowers Trek etc to name a few and Auli is famous for Snow Skiing slopes.

Our first trekking encounter will be crossing the river via a bridge suspended over it. Bear in mind we’re at the Tibetan border; so brace yourself to face mighty gusts of wind. To get to Ruing village, we will need to walk up a mild ascent. Here, the night can be spent at the Panchayat Ghar after obtaining permission from the village authority, or by camping near a clear stream of gushing water in a meadow at the base of Mount Dronagiri
Day 3 : Ruing Village to Dronagiri Village
Day three’s trek will lead us into the forest through a path of inclines and descents with little streams that we will need to cross. While trudging along the trail we’ll have a clear view of the snow-clad peaks of Hathi Parvat and Ghori Parvat. At Dronagiri village, we’ll set up camp on the village outskirts and explore the Bhumial God Temple.
Day 4 : Dronagiri Village to Bagini Base camp
Today’s journey will lead us through winding paths with clumps of rocks and boulders to a picturesque view of Rishi peak and onto a bridge crossing Bagini Nala. To catch our breath, we’ll stop by the streams. And after our 3 hour hike to Bagini base camp, we can retire for the night.
Day 5 : Base camp to Bagini Glacier
We’ll need an early start to take in everything, including the beautiful sunrise by the mountains. The trek up Bagini Glacier will expose moraines, ravines and glacier drifts and right at the top nestled between snow-capped mountain peaks is a sight that will leave you dazed. After soaking up the sights, we’ll hike back to the Bagini base camp.
