Located in the beautiful district of Darjeeling in West Bengal, Sandakphu is an extremely exciting and fun filled trekking trail that attracts adventure seekers from far and wide. Being the highest region of West Bengal, the trek offers an amazing view of the two tallest mountain peaks, namely Mt Everest and Mt. Kanchenjunga in addition to the peaks of Mt Lhotse and Mt. Makalu. What makes the trek truly unique is that the participants get an opportunity to cross over to Nepal as a part of the expedition.
The 6 days long Sandakphu trek takes the participants up to a height of around 1,194 ft above sea level. The trail presents a moderate difficulty level making its suitable for people with a minimal trekking experience. During the entire trip the trekkers get to enjoy the picturesque beauty of the region that often leaves them mesmerized. The wide variety of flora and fauna, most of which is still unspoiled by human interference along with the amazing beauty of snow-capped mountains gradually sloping down to lush green forests presents a captivating sight.
The best time to undertake the Sandakphu trek is during the summer months of April and May. At this time, the beauty of the reagion is at full bloom with the rhododendron flowers spreading their beauty and color in every direction. The weather is also extremely pleasant, which makes the tasks of walking up the mountain terrain seem quite fun filled and even relaxing. The idea of crossing over to Nepal and getting a glimpse of its surreal beauty also makes the participants feel quite excited. In fact most trekkers consider it to be the best aspect of the entire expedition which is completely fulfilling and satisfying.

Day 7 : Gorkhey to Sepi
