Overview
The word Bugyal means Meadow and Dayara is one of the lead contestant in being one of the most beautiful high altitude meadow in India. At a height of 3300 meters it’s neither too high and nor too low. Vast grasslands pimpled with small lakes give this place a beauty of its own. In winters Dayara transforms into a beautiful Skiing destination.
Brief Itinerary
Day 1 : Dehradun-- Uttarkashi - Road 150 Km
Day 2 : Uttarkashi--Barsu--Barnala - Drive 40 km, Trek 3 km
Day 3 : Barnala—Dayara Bugyal - Trek 4 km
Day 4 : Dayara Bugyal Exploration
Day 5 : Dayara Bugyal—Barnala--Barsu - Trek 7km
Day 6 : Barsu--Dehradun - Road 190km
Detailed Itinerary
Day 01 : Dehradun to Uttarkashi (150km, 6-7hrs) : We board cabs from the Dehradun and move towards Uttarkashi a bustling town located on the banks of Bhagirathi River. Meal plan: Welcome drink and dinner. Overnight stay in Hotel
Day 02 : Uttarkashi to Barnala via Barsu (41 km, 4-5 hrs) : After breakfast we drive for 38km to one of the most beautiful Himalayan villages of Barsu. Barsu to Barnala which is our first camping destination is moderate trail of 4 km which generally takes around 3 hrs. The first hour of trek is on a clearly marked trail after which we enter the forest. The campsite is a little below the lake at Barnala
Day 03 : Barnala—Dayara Bugyal (5 Km, 3-4 hrs) : The actual distance between the two places is 5 km however in winters campsite is located about 1 km short of the Bugyal near the shepherd huts as the top is covered in too much snow.
Day 04 : Dayara to Bakaria top and Back to Dayara (4km, 3-4hrs) : Today is the day of exploration, generally we go the Bakaria top which is also the highest point of the trek at 3810 meters. We admire the vista and return back to the campsite by lunch. Evening is reserved to play games and explore the campsite
Day 05 : Dayara Bugyal to Barsu via Barnala (9 km, 4-5 hrs) : Majority if the trek today is downhill as we trace our route back to the village of Barsu, we stay for overnight in the beautiful Himalayan village
DAY 06: Barsu to Dehradun (190 km, 7-8 hrs) : Trip ends after breakfastwe start from Barsu at around 10 to reach Dehradun by evening. Meal Plan:Breakfast
