Chandrakhani Malana Trek Parvati Valley

People relate an interesting tale connected with Chandarkhani pass. In ancient times god Jamlu,the presiding deity of Malana,was carrting all the gods on this route. He opened the basket full of gods on the top of Chandarkhani pass and a strong wind blew all the gods away.These gods settled all over the valley,hence kullu come to be know as ‘Valley of Gods’.

Malana (2652 m)comprises two villages about hundred yards apart.There are peculiar customs in the village.One should not enter the village with leather articles including leather shose.There are identifiable places where one can and can not go.The instructions from local people should be followed carefully.

ITINERARY

Day 1 : Pick up from Patlikuhl & Receving at base camp and Orintation.Over night stay at Base camp.
Day 2 : Manali/ Naggar to Naya Tapru (2,500m/8,250ft; 6 hrs) Approx 10 to 11 kms.
Day 3 : Naya Tapru to Chaklani.
Day 4 : Chaklani (8250m) – Chanderkhani Pass (3660m/12000ft) – Nagruni.
Day 5 : Nagruni To Malana.
Day 6 : Malana – Malana Dam/Jari (Approx 3 – 4 kms) – Naggar (2000 m/ 6600ft; 5 hrs).

Thin to carry:

Back pack 35-40 ltr (this will go the horses extra pay)
Small day pack (u can use this trail to carry food,water,camera,trail layers.
Hiking shoes.,Torch & extra batteries, Water bottle, Extra pair warm cloths.
Sunglasses, sunlotion & Toiletries, Gloves, socks, Rain Coats Warm jacket

The other amount is payable 30 days prior expedition.
This treks are to be confirmed 30 days prior from trek date. Making arrangements for trekking is tedious and it demands lot of efforts, so a little co-operation from your side is appreciated.
The expenses occurring from change in schedule due to weather conditions or personal health issues are to be borne by the participants. Ambika Himalayas Expedition will not be responsible for weather as well as health issues.
