Kaas Plateau
Western Ghats as it is one of the most important biodiversity hotspots in the world. It holds amazing diversity of Flora and Fauna. But even among the entire stretch there are certain spots where you find amazing concentraion of flora. Kaas counts as one of them. There are many such flowers which are endemic to Kaas and surroundings and hence it is very important location for nature lovers.
Kaas is actually a lake and is situated practically on a flat top moutain with rocky surface with very less soil cover. This area comes under very high rainfall zone. This combination has created amazing variety in "Niches" and so amazing diversity in the flora that could be found on kaas. In kaas you can see evergreen forest as well as thorny bushes at the same time and all the diversity within these

Itinerary
Departure from Pune by 6.20am
> Small breakfast stop at Shirval and Reach directly to kaas
> Morning flower trail
> Lunch around 2pm
> postlunch flower trail
> start return journey by 6pm
> Back to Pune by 9.30pm
What to bring
1. Raincoat/umbrella/poncho etc.
2. Extra pair of clothes, towel, napkin etc.
3. Camera and related equipments with provision to protect it from water
4. Notebook and pen, field guides, binocular (optional)
5. Havesack with all luggage packed in plastic bag.
6. Personal medicines if any
