One of the greatest canyons in the Sahyadri mountain ranges, Sandhan valley trek is an amazing combination of a valley and a canyon and a valley. Located near the famous fort Ratangad Fort, in the Nagar district, Sandhan Valley is also known as the valley of suspense. This water carved valley is approx 200 feet deep and about two kms long.

The trek is undoubtedly once in a lifetime experience and the overnight stay under the sparkling sky, along the side of the reservoir is simply a cherry on the cake. The valley is surrounded with mighty forts Madan, Alang, and Kulang and is considered as the toughest trek in Sahyadri.

At certain places, the width of the trail is less than 3 feet and other points lie in the sun shadow area thereby giving the place another name called valley of shadows. At the end of valley, one is met with magnificent views of deep valleys and high cliffs. One patch of 45 feet needs to be rappled down.

The other two patches need to be climbed down with the help of ropes. After climbing down the second rock patch, camp would be set on the flat ground where you can sleep under twinkling stars away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

There is a small stream flowing into a huge pond. The stream is the source of fresh drinking water as pond water is not suitable for drinking purpose. There could also be a chance that you get to witness shooting stars at night from aperture created by 15 feet wide and 200 feet long walls. This makes Sandhan Valley  trek even more special and memorable.

This trek provides a unique experience and is a perfect combination of adventure activity such as Rappelling and staying amidst nature.

• 9:00 Am – End of narrow valley. Start of Descend through the Nali
• 10:30 Am – Tarzan Swing Point.
• 11:30 Pm – Expected exposed to Sun Patch.
• 11:30 pm to 4:00 pm Super Adventure Continues.

Sandhan is located near beautiful Bhandardara region near village called Samrad. Samrad village and Sandhan Valley is surrounded bu Alang,Madan ad Kulang mountains. This place also has Ratangad,Ajoba and Kalsubai mountain ranges. Kalsubai is the highest peak in Maharashtra spanning 5400 feets.

Sandhan Valley Full Descending Trek

Brilliant & deep narrow rock floored ravine between the two high walls of mountain range. At some places its width is less than 3 ft so that at some places sun rays unable to reach. So it’s called valley of shadow. it is accessible throughout the year except monsoon. To go at end side of gorge you have cross 2-3 water pools, water level changes according to seasons, in winter it is up to waist & in summer it is up to knee height. At the end of valley you get magnificent view of high cliffs & deep valley.

The Sandhan valley trek incorporates a rappelling experience and freehold rock climbing and descending. Technical support of experienced trekkers and all safety mountaineering equipment will be used for the event to ensure safety.

Sandhan Valley is accessible from Nov to May.
