Ladakh is one of the most beautiful region in India. The raw beauty of this region is mesmarizing. In this Expedition we ride on motorbikes across most challenging route of the world. Total distance covered during this expedition is approx 2400Km. During this stretch we get to ride over 5 of worlds top 10 passes including Khardung-La which is highest pass of the world.This part of India is more appreciated by non-Indians than Indians which is a sad truth. Let change this situation and experience the raw nature of Ladakh.

 

Some people think that you require Royal Enfield or very high engine capacity motorbikes to participate which is not the truth. Any vehicle of Engine capacity 125cc and above are eligible to participate in this expedition. Right from Discover, Victor, Unicorn, Hunk to Karizma, CBZ, Apache, Royal Enfield can enjoy the ride over these mountains. Of course it is very essential to practice long rides before participating in this event.

 

365hops takes you to this Motorbike trek in such a way that it becomes lifetime experience for everyone. We organize this event with the backing of extensive experience, as we have our own office at Leh also. The acclimatization halts, buffer days etc. are planned base on experience in such a way that the trek becomes success without any health trouble. Also we arrange a standby vehicle during the critical path of Manali to Leh for helping out during breakdowns.


Itinerary


Day 1 : Arrive at Srinagar : Arrival at Srinagar before 16:00 (After breakfast, We meet us with backup vehicle at our hotel. Backup vehicle will be pick up truck. Get hold of Bikes (For Rented), test drive/ Local sightseeing, Dinner & Overnight stay at Srinagar).


Day 02 : Srinagar - Kargil (202km 6hrs) : Kargil is zonal army headquarters. We see lot of army establishments as we move along towards drass. Drass has War memorial which is a must visit destination. The Zozila is one of the important mountain passes in India. At an elevation of 11,575 ft (3,528 meters) above the sea level, the pass lies Amid Leh in the Western Himalayan Mountain Ranges and Srinagar.


Day 03 : Kargil - Leh (218km 4.5 hrs) : Leh is the capital of the Leh district in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. The town is dominated by the ruined Leh Palace, the former mansion of the royal family of Ladakh. Mountains dominate the landscape around the Leh. Srinagar to Leh highway is a beauty in itself and runs through mesmerizing Kashmir valley and scenic towns of Sonamarg and Drass.


Day 04 : Leh - Khardung La Top - Nubra Valley (160km 5 hrs) : Khardung La is 5359 meters Motorable pass. Driving this pass is tougher than the world highest pass as the gradient is tougher. Roads except near pass are in much better condition than what we encounter daily around our home town.


Day 05 : Nubra Valley - Leh (160km 5 hrs) : After Breakfast proceed to Leh. we will cover picturesque vally with lots of memories..


Day 06 : Leh: Day at Leisure/ Maintenance : The morning is at leisure for rest & acclimatization after the long journey. Maintenance of bikes, Afternoon visit Shanti Stupa. Overnight at Leh Hotel.


Day 07 : Leh - Pangong Tso via Chang La (223km 5.5hrs) : Chang La is worlds third highest Motorable pass. Driving this pass is tougher than the world highest pass as the gradient is tougher. Roads except near pass are in much better condition than what we encounter daily around our home town. We stay right next to Pangong Lake.


Day 08 : Pangong Tso - Hanle (311 km 7.5 hrs) : Sengge Namgyal, one of the most prominent kings of Ladakh and also nicknamed as “The Lion King”; died at Hanle on his return from an expedition against the Mongols, who had occupied Tsang and were threatening Ladakh. Hanle Monastery was built under his patronage and is currently home to 10 Lamas.


Day 09 : Hanle - Umling La - Hanle : Recently, a few images have been going viral among travel and adventure enthusiasts; of a new highest motorable road in the world. It is, once completed, speculated to cross over Umling La at 19,300 feet, thus making it the new highest motorable road in the world; and Umling La as the new highest motorable pass.


Day 10 : Hanle - Tso Moriri - Tso Kar (247km 8 hrs) : Tso Moriri is usually referred to as a freshwater lake which is not completely true. Its water is slightly salty but hard to notice while drinking due to which it is perceived as freshwater. The lake is fed by water from melting snow and springs and currently has no outlet.


Day 11 : Tso Kar - jispa (226 km 7.5 hrs) : Tso Kar is called the white lake, it is the most peaceful and calm of them all and also the smallest of the three. There are only a few yak sheds, a monastery and a couple of nomadic families in the surrounding. The lake and area of Tso kar is home to many nomads who travel these areas continuously. Tso kar also has a large variety of birds for bird lovers.


Day 12  :  Jispa - Manali (223 km 7 hrs) : Its a long run for the day but in most of the part, roads are very good so its easy to cover the distance. Visit to Rohtang Pass height 3978 metres, the way up the hills is a treat to the eyes.

 

Bike Deposit - Participants with rented bikes will handover their bikes at Manali at hotel & for own bikes we will transfer your vehicle from Manali only.


Day 13 : Manali : Local site seeing in the morning Manali. Drop at Manali volvo station by 4pm. overnight journey towards Delhi.


Day 14 : Delhi (545 KM 12hrs) : Arrival at Delhi


What to Bring

 

  • A postive mind set and a healthy body!
  • To carry your own luggage, you will need trek bag at least 48Liters capacity, depending on your luggage carrying tendency. We won't recommend you to carry luggage more than 65 lit as at that altitude it would be very tough to carry so much luggage.
  • At least 3 pairs of full pants to be carried along. We Recommend the quick dry material. Easy dry material avoid your inconvenience because of wet clothes.
  • Carry good sports shoes with enough anti skid pattern on the bottom. Sports shoes with good rubber sole are the best. Do not go for running shoes. They are usually insufficient and have tendency to slip.
  • One set of travelling clothes. This set you can keep behind in hotel luggage and can pickup after trek.
  • At least 4 sets of socks
  • Monkeycap (warm material). Avoid hand made caps. A monkey camp with thick weaving is recommended as it protects you not from cold but from wind chill factor as well.
  • At least 4 sets of T-shirts with long sleeves. Having collar is beneficial as it helps you add another layer to you neck to avoid cold.
  • Riding Jacket
  • Good quality hand gloves (warm) added with another set of hand gloves (waterproof)
  • Action Camera (Optional)
  • Waterproof wind cheater or a jacket
  • Sunglasses compulsory
  • Sunscreen, Lip balm, Cold creams etc.
  • Personal Toiletaries
